David Visits Atlanta Motor Speedway

David not only has a life-threatening medical condition, he also has Down's Syndrome. He loves NASCAR and Jeff Gordon is his favorite driver. Although David is 40, his thought process is that of a 12 year old. He was so excited about this trip, that he had his knapsack packed a week in advance and counted the days on the calendar. David traveled with his brother and father from TN to Atlanta, GA where they were graciously accommodated by the Hampton Inn. Dinner was provided by Anthony's Pizza and Pasta. The following day was spent at the Atlanta Motor Speedway where David and his family were given passes allowing them into the infield and pits. They were absolutely thrilled to be right in the thick of it all on a race day that draws 150,000 NASCAR fans to Atlanta Motor Speedway. Unfortunately, a personal meeting with Jeff Gordon was not able to take place, but David was so excited about being in the pits that it did not seem to dampen his spirits that day.
