Claude Rides in Model-T Ford

Alive Hospice asked if we could grant a dream for Claude, 74, of Old Hickory, TN who loved old cars. His favorite...the Model-T Ford. They asked if we could just get an antique automobile to come to his home so he could have his picture taken in front of it. They explained Claude's love of the car and his 32 year working career with the Ford Motor Company.

It was a dream we were happy to do. Granting Dreams contacted the local chapter of the Model-T club of America and were able to get their assistance in granting a dream above what was expected. As you can see in the photo, Claude was able to take a ride with his wife, daughter and grandkids with the top down. When they were gone longer than expected, we called on the cell phone to be sure they didn't break down. We were told that they were just having a grand time and visited some folks at his local church...not to worry, they would return soon. Additionally, Claude was named honorary member of not only the local chapter, but given a certificate naming him honorary member of the National Model-T Club of America.

The afternoon included flowers, balloons, and sharing stories of antique cars. Claude even had his family bring out an antique tool set used to work on the Model-T to show everyone. He certainly is proud of that era in automobile history.
